Regional Electrical Engineer responsible for designing, evaluating, and delivering colocation data‑center infrastructure across the Americas, partnering with customers, operations, and vendors to ensure reliable power and compliance with AWS standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical design of colocation data‑center projects, including power distribution, grounding, and backup systems.
- Collaborate with customer engineering, data‑center operations, and external consultants to define requirements and validate solutions.
- Perform site assessments, capacity planning, and risk analysis to ensure compliance with AWS and local regulations.
- Manage vendor relationships, oversee procurement of electrical equipment, and drive cost‑effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain detailed design documentation, schematics, and as‑built records using industry‑standard tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of data‑center or large‑scale infrastructure experience.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, UPS, generators, and grounding systems in high‑density environments.
- Proven project management skills, including schedule coordination and cross‑functional stakeholder communication.
- Experience working with vendors and external consultants to deliver complex engineering projects.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on reliability and scalability.
