Railroad Construction Field Quality Systems Manager - Succession Planning for Railroads Investing in the Next Generation

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain quality assurance plans for all construction activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and project specifications.
• Conduct pre‑construction, in‑process, and post‑completion inspections to verify material integrity, workmanship, and safety compliance.
• Analyze inspection data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to prevent rework and enhance overall project quality.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and field teams to integrate quality objectives into project schedules and budgets.
• Prepare detailed quality reports, audit findings, and recommendations for senior management and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within railroad or large‑scale civil construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of railroad construction standards (e.g., AAR, FRA) and quality control methodologies.
• Proficiency in inspection techniques, data analysis, and quality documentation tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead cross‑functional teams.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to construction sites as needed.
