Software Engineer
Design and develop rail and transit infrastructure using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D, supporting Class 1, short‑line, and transit projects while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed rail track and civil designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D, adhering to industry standards and client specifications.
- Perform geometric and structural analyses for freight, intercity, and transit rail projects, ensuring safety and performance criteria are met.
- Integrate GIS data and survey information to produce accurate alignment, grading, and drainage plans.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders to coordinate design deliverables and resolve technical issues.
- Prepare construction documents, specifications, and cost estimates for rail infrastructure improvements and new builds.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in rail or transit design, with proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of rail track geometry, signaling, and right‑of‑way considerations.
- Experience using GIS tools and interpreting survey data for design applications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
