Hardware Engineer
Design, build, and optimize neutral‑atom quantum hardware, integrating optical trapping, control electronics, and software to advance scalable quantum processors.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement hardware architectures for neutral‑atom quantum processors, including optical trapping and vacuum systems.
- Design, program, and debug control electronics and firmware for precise qubit manipulation.
- Write and maintain software tools in Python and C++ for experiment control, data acquisition, and system calibration.
- Collaborate with physicists to translate experimental protocols into robust engineering solutions.
- Perform performance analysis, error budgeting, and iterative improvements to increase qubit fidelity and system scalability.
Requirements
- Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on quantum technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with optical systems, laser alignment, and vacuum instrumentation.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++ for hardware control and data processing.
- Strong background in control theory, signal processing, or embedded systems for high‑precision experiments.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
