Lead torque and process quality assessments across GMNA plants, ensuring compliance with GMS‑BIQ standards and preventing torque‑related recalls during new product launches.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Conduct annual GMS‑BIQ Torque/Process/Weld assessments at all GMNA Vehicle Assembly, Powertrain, Metal Centers and Component Holding plants.
Lead torque confirmation reviews for new product programs, collaborating with Fastening Engineering, MEVS Group and plant personnel.
Analyze torque data, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recalls.
Develop and maintain assessment documentation, ensuring alignment with Global Quality Manual Statements and Tool & Equipment Bulletins.
Provide technical guidance to plant teams on torque measurement, calibration, and process optimization.
Requirements
Strong background in torque engineering and automotive quality systems.
Experience with GMS‑BIQ standards and process/weld assessment methodologies.
Proficiency in data analysis and root cause investigation.
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
Ability to travel to multiple GMNA facilities as needed.
