Detail‑oriented QA Designer responsible for reviewing electric and gas utility engineering design packages, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications while supporting project delivery.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate engineering design packages for electric and gas utility projects against utility standards, codes, and client specifications.
- Identify non‑conformances, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution through the design lifecycle.
- Coordinate with design engineers, project managers, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely compliance and documentation.
- Maintain and update quality management procedures, checklists, and audit records specific to utility engineering.
- Utilize AutoCAD and GIS tools to verify design accuracy, spatial data integrity, and constructability.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in quality assurance or design review within electric or gas utility engineering.
- Strong knowledge of utility standards (e.g., NESC, NFPA 70E), regulatory codes, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS software, and Microsoft Office suite for documentation and reporting.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills with a focus on detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
