Engineering Manager
Lead a QA team to develop and maintain food safety and quality assurance programs, manage audits and regulatory inspections, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing facility.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Quality Assurance and Food Safety systems, including HACCP and ISO 22000 frameworks.
- Lead and mentor the QA team, setting performance goals and ensuring effective execution of quality control activities.
- Plan, conduct, and oversee internal and external audits, and coordinate regulatory inspections to ensure full compliance.
- Identify root causes of quality issues, drive corrective actions, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on new product introductions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using data‑driven methods such as CAPA, risk assessments, and process optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in food‑industry quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FSMA, FDA, USDA) and quality standards (ISO 22000, GFSI).
- Proven experience leading audits, managing CAPA processes, and implementing continuous improvement programs.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and team‑leadership skills.
