Analyze and optimize Raptor engine hardware through advanced CFD and thermal simulations using Sinda/Fluint, STAR-CCM+, and custom code, ensuring performance across all flight phases.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute CFD and thermal models for Raptor engine hardware using Sinda/Fluint and STAR-CCM+.
- Build, mesh, and solve custom simulation codes to evaluate startup, mainstage, and shutdown conditions.
- Interpret simulation results to recommend design improvements and validate performance against flight data.
- Collaborate with propulsion, materials, and systems teams to integrate fluid dynamics insights into overall engine design.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and findings in clear technical reports.
Requirements
- Strong background in fluid dynamics and thermal analysis for propulsion systems.
- Proficiency with Sinda/Fluint, STAR-CCM+, and experience writing custom simulation code.
- Ability to analyze complex multi-phase flow and heat transfer scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
