Software Engineer
Design and certify safe aerospace products and services, applying systems safety methods, risk analysis, and compliance with FAA and DO-178C standards using tools such as MATLAB.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute system safety analyses for new and existing aerospace products and services.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate hazards throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and DO-178C standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to integrate safety requirements into design, verification, and validation processes.
- Produce safety documentation, including safety plans, hazard logs, and certification reports.
- Support safety reviews, audits, and certification activities with regulatory authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on safety engineering.
- Experience applying system safety processes (e.g., FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis) in aerospace or defense projects.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, DO-178C, and other relevant certification standards.
- Proficiency with safety analysis tools such as MATLAB and familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data analysis.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
