Production Risk Engineer - Lawyers Professional Liability

As a member of the risk engineering team, you will be responsible for the production of premium through proper risk analysis and effective distribution of our Lawyers Professional Liability (LPL) products. In collaboration with the engineering, design, data, and operations team, you will leverage your industry knowledge and broker relationships to underwrite and grow Counterpart’s LPL book of business, spanning E&O, incidental GL, and related professional liability coverages tailored to modern law firms and evolving legal practices. You will play a key role in building broker demand and establishing Counterpart as a leading LPL market.

AS A PRODUCTION FOCUSED RISK ENGINEER YOU WILL:

• Achieve and exceed underwriting performance and revenue goals for the Lawyers Professional Liability segment, underwriting in accordance with our stated procedures.
• Price LPL accounts with competitive terms quickly, thoughtfully, and in accordance with our guidelines, demonstrating a deep understanding of law firm exposures, practice area dynamics, and risk profiles.
• Manage quote-related communication and questions in a thoughtful and trusting manner, serving as an underwriting resource to brokers on LPL coverage nuances.
• Collaborate with the Director, Lawyers Professional Liability and the broader underwriting team of Risk Engineers on understanding the unique exposures of complex LPL accounts.
• Provide market feedback and recommend improvements to our LPL terms, rates, guidelines, coverage structures, and policy forms to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
• Support the development of underwriting guidelines, decision trees, and rating logic specific to LPL classes in partnership with the product and data teams.
• Bind accounts through the continuous engagement of your assigned brokers, maximizing quote-to-bind efficiency across the LPL portfolio.
• Represent Counterpart at broker meetings and various industry events, positioning the company as a thought leader in Lawyers Professional Liability.
• Contribute ideas and feedback on our suite of tools and services as a key stakeholder of our product roadmap, helping to shape digital workflows and automation for LPL underwriting.
