Process Control Engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control hardware and software for steelmaking operations, focusing on PLC logic, SCADA integration, and drive tuning for mill equipment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into robust industrial application solutions for steelmaking processes.
- Design, program, and implement PLC control logic and automation sequences for mill equipment.
- Configure and tune drives for roughing and finishing stands, coilers, shears, and handling systems.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including I/O lists, logic diagrams, and system specifications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot and optimize control system performance.
Requirements
- Proven experience in PLC programming and SCADA system integration in a heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of drive configuration, motor control, and industrial automation principles.
- Ability to develop detailed documentation and technical specifications.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
