Software Engineer
Lead advanced power system studies, perform complex grid analyses, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure reliability of critical infrastructure using tools such as PSS/E, PowerWorld, MATLAB, and Python.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute high‑level power system studies, including load flow, short‑circuit, stability, and harmonic analyses for transmission and distribution networks.
- Develop and validate grid models using PSS/E, PowerWorld Simulator, and custom MATLAB/Python scripts.
- Provide technical guidance on system planning, contingency analysis, and mitigation strategies to improve grid reliability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate study results into project designs, regulatory filings, and operational procedures.
- Mentor junior engineers, review technical deliverables, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as NERC, IEEE, and IEC.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field with 10+ years of experience in power system studies.
- Proficiency in PSS/E, PowerWorld Simulator, MATLAB, and Python for modeling and analysis.
- Deep understanding of transmission and distribution system operation, protection schemes, and reliability standards.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead technical teams.
- Experience with grid modernization initiatives, renewable integration, and advanced simulation techniques is preferred.
