About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end safety engineering activities for complex aerospace systems, ensuring compliance with DoD, FAA, and industry safety standards.
- Conduct safety analysis, risk assessments, and safety case development, integrating safety requirements into system design and verification plans.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, verification, integration) to identify, document, and mitigate safety hazards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Prepare and review safety documentation, including Safety Analysis Reports, Safety Plans, and Safety Verification Reports, ensuring traceability and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain and manage Top Secret security clearance, coordinating with security personnel and ensuring adherence to clearance protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of experience in systems safety engineering for aerospace or defense systems.
- Deep knowledge of safety standards such as DO-178C, DO-254, and DoD safety processes.
- Proven ability to develop safety cases, perform risk assessments, and lead safety verification activities.
- Strong communication skills and experience working in a highly regulated, security‑cleared environment.
