Systems Engineer
Lead the design and integration of mission‑critical avionics systems for the MilAv OPAS program, applying model‑based systems engineering, architecture development, and software expertise in C++ and Python.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve system architecture and interfaces for the MilAv OPAS avionics suite using Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques.
- Lead requirements capture, traceability, and verification across hardware and software domains, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (software, hardware, test, and program management) to drive integration, risk mitigation, and schedule adherence.
- Develop and review C++ and Python code components, supporting simulation, test automation, and tool development.
- Apply Agile and iterative development practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining rigorous quality and safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; 10+ years of systems engineering experience in aerospace or defense.
- Proficiency with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo) and strong systems architecture skills.
- Hands‑on experience developing or reviewing C++/Python code for embedded or real‑time avionics applications.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex requirements, perform trade studies, and lead technical reviews.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain any required program access; security clearance not required.
