Systems Engineer
Lead the design and delivery of next‑generation combat air systems, driving system architecture, requirements definition, and integration using Model‑Based Systems Engineering, C++, MATLAB and Agile practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve system architecture for advanced combat air platforms, ensuring performance, safety and integration targets are met.
- Lead requirements capture, analysis, traceability and verification using tools such as DOORS and model‑based approaches.
- Develop and validate high‑fidelity models and simulations in MATLAB and C++ to support design decisions and trade studies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, software, test, and program management) in an Agile environment to deliver integrated system solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in systems engineering, documentation, and risk management.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering for aerospace or defence programmes, with a focus on combat air systems.
- Proficiency in Model‑Based Systems Engineering, requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS), and programming in C++/MATLAB.
- Strong understanding of system architecture, integration, and verification processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work in Agile, hybrid‑working environments and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Eligibility for UK security clearance (British citizenship or dual UK nationality).
