Systems Engineer
Lead the definition, decomposition, verification and validation of high‑integrity APU control system requirements for gas‑turbine engines, guiding a small team through the full product lifecycle using model‑based methods and aerospace standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define, decompose, and manage system requirements for APU control functions across concept, development, and sustainment phases.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) to create architecture, functional, and interface models.
- Conduct verification and validation activities, including test planning, analysis, and traceability to ensure compliance with aerospace safety standards.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, and integration engineers to resolve technical issues and drive design decisions.
- Provide technical mentorship, review work products, and enforce best practices for high‑integrity system development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in requirements engineering and MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Strong background in aerospace control systems, particularly for gas‑turbine or APU applications.
- Hands‑on experience with verification & validation processes and safety‑critical standards (e.g., DO‑178C, ARP4754).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide cross‑functional teams.
