Systems Engineer
Lead technical strategy and architecture for defense systems as a Principal Systems Engineer, driving innovation through model‑based design, requirements management, and advanced software development using C++, MATLAB, and SysML.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the technical vision and architecture for complex defense systems, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and regulatory standards.
- Lead model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) initiatives, creating and maintaining SysML models and integrating them with requirements tools such as IBM DOORS.
- Mentor and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams, fostering best practices in requirements capture, verification, and validation.
- Drive the development and integration of high‑performance software components using C++ and MATLAB, supporting simulation, analysis, and real‑time operation.
- Collaborate with program managers and customers to translate stakeholder needs into actionable system specifications and deliverables.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in systems engineering within the defense sector, with a proven record of technical leadership.
- Deep expertise in MBSE, SysML, and requirements management tools (e.g., IBM DOORS, Jama).
- Strong software development background, particularly in C++ and MATLAB for modeling, simulation, and embedded systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing senior leadership and external partners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
