Systems Engineer
Lead the design and integration of advanced defense systems as a Principal Systems Engineer, applying model‑based methods, C++/Python development, and Agile practices while supporting secret‑clearance projects and limited travel.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive system architecture for DAPS programs, ensuring compliance with mission requirements and security constraints.
- Develop and maintain model‑based system models, traceability matrices, and verification plans.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in Agile sprints, coordinating hardware, software, and test engineers.
- Translate stakeholder needs into detailed requirements, perform trade studies, and manage configuration control.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and interface with customers and program managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years of systems engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Model‑Based Systems Engineering tools (e.g., SysML, MagicDraw) and hands‑on coding in C++ and Python.
- Demonstrated experience with requirements management (e.g., DOORS, Jama) and Agile development processes.
- Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time for customer sites and test events.
