Lead the design and integration of missile defense radar systems, driving architecture, software development, and verification using C++, embedded Linux, and model‑based engineering in a secure, DoD‑cleared environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the system architecture for next‑generation missile defense radars, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with defense standards.
- Lead cross‑functional teams in developing embedded software (C++/Linux) and signal‑processing algorithms for radar detection and tracking.
- Apply Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools to capture requirements, design models, and traceability throughout the development lifecycle.
- Coordinate verification and validation activities, including hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing and field integration.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive Agile practices to improve delivery speed and quality.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in radar or defense system engineering, with deep expertise in C++ and embedded Linux development.
- Proven track record with MBSE tools (e.g., SysML, DOORS) and system integration for high‑performance radar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of radar signal processing concepts and real‑time software constraints.
- Active DoD Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one) and U.S. citizenship.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders across multiple disciplines.
