Principal System Engineer - LIMS - Moderna
Systems Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of LabVantage LIMS for a fast‑moving digital laboratory, driving continuous improvement projects and shaping the long‑term Quality Control digital roadmap.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical authority for the LabVantage LIMS, ensuring architecture, configuration, and performance meet business needs.
- Design, propose, and execute small‑ to medium‑scale continuous‑improvement initiatives that enhance lab workflows, data quality, and system reliability.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Quality Control, IT, and R&D—to integrate LIMS with downstream systems and support large‑scale digital transformation projects.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials for LIMS users and support staff.
- Monitor system compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., GxP, FDA) and implement corrective actions as required.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience designing, implementing, or supporting LIMS solutions, preferably LabVantage.
- Strong background in Quality Control laboratory processes and regulatory compliance.
- Proven track record leading continuous‑improvement projects and delivering results in fast‑paced environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; advanced degree a plus.
