Software Engineer
Lead the design, development and delivery of complex public‑sector applications using C#, ASP.NET and SQL Server, while driving cloud adoption on Azure and championing Agile and DevOps practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design and implement high‑quality, scalable software solutions for council services using C# and ASP.NET.
- Lead a multidisciplinary development team, fostering Agile delivery, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications and robust data models.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and services on Microsoft Azure, ensuring security, performance and cost‑effectiveness.
- Mentor junior developers, conduct code reviews and enforce best‑practice standards across the development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Proven experience (8+ years) in C#/.NET development, including ASP.NET MVC/Web API.
- Strong expertise with SQL Server database design, optimisation and T‑SQL scripting.
- Hands‑on experience deploying and managing applications on Azure (App Services, Functions, DevOps pipelines).
- Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments and lead technical teams.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
