Software Engineer
Lead the design and integration of next‑generation quantum hardware, driving architecture, ASIC and VLSI development while ensuring scalability and performance across Azure‑enabled quantum platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect end‑to‑end quantum hardware systems, from qubit design to control electronics, ensuring alignment with Azure cloud services.
- Lead ASIC and VLSI design teams, selecting appropriate fabrication processes and optimizing for cryogenic operation.
- Collaborate with software, firmware, and system teams to define interfaces, performance metrics, and integration strategies.
- Drive innovation in cryogenic infrastructure, superconducting qubit technologies, and error‑correction hardware.
- Mentor junior engineers, establish best practices, and champion continuous improvement across the hardware stack.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in hardware architecture for high‑performance computing or quantum systems.
- Deep expertise in ASIC/VLSI design, FPGA prototyping, and cryogenic electronics.
- Strong understanding of superconducting qubit technologies and quantum error correction.
- Proficiency with CAD tools (Cadence, Synopsys) and simulation environments.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams.
