Principal Engineer, Software Development, R&D - Teleflex

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and develop high‑reliability embedded software for medical devices, ensuring compliance with IEC 62304 and FDA regulations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (hardware, QA, regulatory) to define product requirements and deliver robust firmware and application layers.
• Lead code reviews, establish coding standards, and mentor junior engineers on best practices for C++ and Python.
• Implement automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines to accelerate release cycles.
• Drive technical innovation by evaluating emerging technologies and integrating them into product roadmaps.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in embedded systems, preferably in medical device industry.
• Expertise in C++ (C++17/20) and Python for scripting and automation.
• Strong understanding of real‑time operating systems, hardware interfaces, and safety‑critical software development.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, GitLab), and test‑driven development.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor and influence cross‑functional teams.
