Lead the design and implementation of high‑performance, resilient backend services for ticketing, using Python, Node.js, and AWS to handle billions of API calls and deliver real‑time seat availability at scale.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop scalable microservices that power event discovery, seat availability, and interactive venue experiences.
- Lead performance tuning and reliability initiatives to ensure 99.99% uptime during peak on‑sales.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define API contracts and data models for billions of daily requests.
- Mentor and coach engineering teams on best practices in distributed systems, fault tolerance, and cloud deployment.
- Drive continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, observability, and automated testing.
Requirements
- 10+ years of backend engineering experience with a strong focus on high‑scale web services.
- Proficiency in Python and Node.js, with deep knowledge of asynchronous programming and event‑driven architectures.
- Extensive experience deploying and managing services on AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB).
- Strong background in designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, and in implementing caching, rate limiting, and message queues.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
