Lead the design and administration of MISO’s Financial Transmission Rights market, collaborating across modeling, planning, and operations to ensure efficient, fair transmission congestion hedging for load-serving entities.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and optimize the Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) market framework to support reliable and value‑creating transmission operations.
Collaborate with modeling, planning, outage coordination, credit, settlements, and operations teams to integrate market rules and data flows.
Analyze market data, congestion patterns, and regulatory requirements to refine FTR pricing and allocation mechanisms.
Develop and maintain documentation, market rules, and compliance reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and training to market participants and internal teams on FTR operations and best practices.
Requirements
Extensive experience in power market operations, specifically with Financial Transmission Rights or similar congestion management tools.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical modeling.
Deep understanding of transmission planning, outage coordination, and regulatory compliance within an RTO environment.
Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex market concepts to diverse audiences.
Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
