Database Administrator
Lead the design, operation, and optimization of mission‑critical Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance while collaborating with SRE and development teams on full‑stack service reliability.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day Oracle DBA support, including troubleshooting production incidents and performance bottlenecks.
- Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, and high‑availability solutions for critical databases.
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering to own the full‑stack configuration, dependencies, and operational characteristics of services.
- Drive security hardening, resiliency, and scaling initiatives across the database landscape.
- Partner with development teams to define and implement database‑related improvements and automation.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator, with deep expertise in performance tuning and SQL optimization.
- Proven experience designing and managing backup, recovery, and high‑availability architectures (RAC, Data Guard, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting for automation.
- Hands‑on experience working in SRE or DevOps‑oriented teams, emphasizing reliability and observability.
- Solid understanding of security best practices for database systems.
