The Data Sciences team at Flipkart is dedicated to building systemic intelligence across Flipkart products and its entire ecosystem. As a Principal Data Scientist at Flipkart, you will tackle challenging problems in areas such as Natural Language Processing, Conversational Interfaces, Search, Recommendations, Image Sciences, and Speech. Your role involves identifying data science opportunities, designing and developing machine learning models across various e-commerce domains, and collaborating with engineering and product teams for holistic product delivery. You will work hands-on with junior data scientists in your area and lead technical solutioning from problem identification to deployment. Flipkart's flat functional structure empowers data scientists to pursue excellence and foster ownership at every stage. Responsibilities

• Be a thought leader in identifying the right set of problems by interacting with business, operations, and product teams and prioritize potential data science opportunities.
• Work closely with stakeholders to help define and drive the data science roadmap.
• Work closely with junior data scientists to translate underlying business problems into data science problems and provide hands-on mentorship for overall data science solutioning.
• Provide in-depth expertise in data science areas such as time series forecasting, image sciences, speech recognition, NLP/NLU, classification techniques, predictive analytics, and topic modeling.
• Lead academic collaborations and define novel research problem statements to solve business use cases not directly addressed by the state of the art.

Requirements

• PhD in CS or Statistics with demonstrable experience through publications, deployed solutions, or projects.
• Over 8 years of experience.
• Strong technical and programming skills.
• Hands-on experience with building machine learning models into products.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks, Big data technologies, and languages.
• Strong experience in driving key data science initiatives across functions.
• Demonstrated capability of writing and reviewing technical papers.
• Strong communication skills to influence peers and various stakeholders.
