Security Engineer
Lead the design and implementation of secure aerospace software, applying advanced C++/Python development, Linux expertise, cryptographic techniques, and threat modeling to protect critical systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop high‑assurance software components for aerospace platforms, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards.
- Lead threat modeling and risk assessments, translating findings into secure design patterns and mitigation strategies.
- Implement cryptographic solutions and secure communication protocols, integrating them into existing codebases.
- Mentor junior engineers on secure coding practices, code reviews, and security testing methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed DevSecOps pipelines, automating static and dynamic analysis for continuous security assurance.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, with deep expertise in C++ and Python on Linux platforms.
- Proven track record in secure software development, including cryptography, secure coding standards (e.g., MISRA, CERT), and vulnerability mitigation.
- Experience conducting threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and implementing security controls for high‑impact systems.
- Active Secret DoD clearance (or ability to obtain one) and U.S. citizenship.
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical discussions across multidisciplinary teams.
