Security Engineer
Lead the design and implementation of advanced cybersecurity solutions, focusing on cloud security, IAM, threat modeling, and automation using Python to protect critical federal systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement secure, scalable solutions for federal systems, with emphasis on AWS cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain Identity and Access Management frameworks, ensuring least‑privilege access across all platforms.
- Lead threat modeling and risk assessment activities, translating findings into actionable security controls.
- Design, configure, and optimize SIEM solutions for real‑time detection and response.
- Automate security processes and tooling using Python and scripting to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong focus on cloud security (AWS preferred).
- Proven expertise in IAM design, threat modeling, and security architecture for high‑impact government programs.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight) and incident response workflows.
- Advanced programming/scripting skills in Python for automation and tool development.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, or equivalent.
