About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary design and construction of major nuclear projects, including Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, SMR programmes, and future fusion reactor technologies.
- Oversee all phases of structural engineering, from conceptual design through detailed analysis, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical growth and maintaining high performance standards.
- Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and cross‑functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and to budget.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging best practices in structural analysis, BIM, and digital tools to enhance project outcomes.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in civil structural engineering within the nuclear industry.
- Proven track record of leading large‑scale projects and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong knowledge of nuclear safety regulations, structural analysis software, and BIM workflows.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and business development skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
