Software Engineer
Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of electrical infrastructure for Australian data centre operations, ensuring reliable power delivery, renewable integration, and compliance with industry standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer high‑availability power distribution systems for data centre facilities, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and grid‑connection interfaces.
- Lead end‑to‑end project delivery, coordinating with civil, mechanical, and IT teams to meet schedule, budget, and performance targets.
- Integrate renewable energy sources and storage solutions to enhance sustainability and resilience of the power supply.
- Develop and maintain documentation, schematics, and as‑built records in accordance with IEC, NFPA, and local regulations.
- Monitor system performance, conduct root‑cause analysis of outages, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for power system design and operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; professional engineering registration preferred.
- 10+ years of experience designing and managing power infrastructure for large‑scale data centres or critical facilities.
- Proven expertise in power distribution, UPS, generator sets, and renewable energy integration.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
- In‑depth knowledge of IEC, NFPA, and local electrical codes, and ability to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
