Software Engineer
Lead the optimisation of SCADA Power System tools for England and Wales transmission, driving advanced modelling, analysis and data‑driven decision making to enhance network reliability and efficiency.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Electricity Network Model, ensuring accurate representation of the transmission system for SCADA operations.
- Lead optimisation initiatives for SCADA Power System tools, improving performance, reliability and cost‑effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate advanced analytics and data‑driven insights into SCADA workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operations staff on power system modelling and optimisation techniques.
- Monitor system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions to enhance network security and economic operation.
Requirements
- Strong background in power system modelling, optimisation and SCADA technologies.
- Experience with electrical transmission networks and related analytical tools.
- Proficiency in data analysis and scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
