Design, deploy, and maintain power generation and distribution infrastructure for AWS data centers, applying electrical engineering expertise, SCADA/PLC control, and project management to ensure reliable, high‑capacity cloud operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer power generation, backup, and distribution systems for AWS data center facilities.
- Lead field installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical equipment, including generators, UPS, switchgear, and control systems.
- Develop and maintain SCADA and PLC configurations for real‑time monitoring, fault detection, and automated response.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate power infrastructure with AWS networking, cooling, and security requirements.
- Perform root‑cause analysis of power incidents, drive corrective actions, and improve reliability metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in power generation or data‑center infrastructure.
- Hands‑on experience with high‑voltage distribution, generators, UPS systems, and protective relays.
- Proficiency in SCADA/PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial communication protocols.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination.
- Ability to work in field environments, troubleshoot complex electrical issues, and adhere to safety standards.
