Software Engineer
Lead the migration of 400+ IBM Cognos reports to Microsoft Power BI, designing and developing interactive dashboards, optimizing data models, and ensuring seamless integration with Oracle data sources for the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics team.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end migration of approximately 400 IBM Cognos reports to Microsoft Power BI, ensuring functional parity and performance optimization.
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, leveraging DAX, Power Query, and advanced visualizations to meet business stakeholder needs.
- Extract, transform, and load data from Oracle databases into Power BI datasets, creating efficient ETL processes and data models.
- Collaborate with data architects and business analysts to refine requirements, validate data accuracy, and implement best practices for data governance.
- Document migration procedures, report specifications, and troubleshooting guidelines for future maintenance and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- Proven experience migrating legacy reporting solutions (e.g., Cognos, SSRS) to Power BI at scale.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Oracle database querying, and data modeling concepts.
- Hands‑on expertise with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query, and data refresh automation.
- Experience designing ETL pipelines and integrating data from multiple sources into Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical details into business insights.
