Lead the design, integration, and delivery of NASA‑approved Portable Life Support Systems, ensuring performance, safety, and compliance while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to advance deep‑space exploration.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end development of PLSS components, from concept through qualification testing.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software) to meet NASA design and safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk mitigation plans.
- Conduct design reviews, failure mode analyses, and verification testing to validate system performance.
- Document technical specifications, test procedures, and compliance reports for regulatory approval.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in space life support or related systems engineering.
- Proficiency with NASA engineering standards (e.g., NASA-STD-3001, NASA-STD-7000).
- Strong project management skills and experience with risk assessment tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities in a collaborative environment.
