Software Engineer
Hands‑on PLC Programmer and Automation Technician to design, program, and commission control systems for a new greenfield manufacturing plant, working on robotic cells, machine design, and plant floor layout.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy PLC programs using ladder logic and structured text for new production lines.
- Design and integrate robotic cells, including motion control, safety interlocks, and communication with PLCs.
- Create and configure HMI/SCADA interfaces for operator monitoring and control.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on machine design, plant layout, and equipment specification.
- Perform on‑site commissioning, troubleshooting, and fine‑tuning of automated systems.
- Document control logic, wiring diagrams, and as‑built configurations for future maintenance.
Requirements
- Post‑secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field.
- Proven experience programming PLCs (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and integrating robotic systems.
- Strong knowledge of ladder logic, structured text, and HMI/SCADA development.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting skills with a focus on machine commissioning and start‑up.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
