Platform Engineer responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining secure, high‑availability infrastructure using Linux, Python, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes, supporting mission‑critical defence and aerospace applications.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable Linux‑based platforms for mission‑critical applications.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment using Ansible, Python scripts, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Containerize services with Docker and orchestrate workloads on Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and incident response processes to ensure high availability and security compliance.
- Collaborate with cyber, network, and software teams to integrate security controls and maintain SC/eDV clearance requirements.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing Linux infrastructure in a secure, regulated environment.
- Proficiency in Python scripting and Ansible automation.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and version control.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance (SC/eDV) for UK defence projects.
