Part-time engineer responsible for reviewing and verifying player tracking data during live NFL games, ensuring accuracy, correcting errors, and supporting the Next Gen Stats team with data quality tasks.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and review player tracking data in real time for every play during preseason and regular‑season games.
- Identify data anomalies, correct inaccuracies, and document changes to maintain high data integrity.
- Collaborate with the Next Gen Stats engineering team to communicate data issues and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain version‑controlled scripts and tools used for data validation and quality checks.
- Provide concise reports on data quality metrics and trends after each game.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for data extraction, transformation, and validation.
- Experience with data analysis and quality assurance workflows.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version‑control systems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under tight, time‑critical conditions.
- Availability to work full Sundays throughout the NFL season (August‑January) and a passion for football.
