Backend Engineer
Part‑time contractor needed to manage infrastructure, develop backend services, and resolve production issues for AI‑focused client projects, using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS, including networking, compute, and storage resources.
- Develop, test, and deploy backend services and APIs using Python and container technologies.
- Implement and manage container orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes for production workloads.
- Design, write, and maintain Infrastructure‑as‑Code scripts with Terraform.
- Set up, monitor, and improve CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable releases.
- Diagnose and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, and reliability issues in existing codebases.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in backend development and DevOps engineering.
- Proficiency with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Strong knowledge of Terraform or similar IaC tools.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly with senior engineers, and deliver high‑quality code on schedule.
