Database Administrator
Lead a team of DBAs to ensure the reliability, security, and performance of Oracle 19c databases supporting core institutional services, while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of Oracle 19c databases, ensuring high availability and optimal performance for HR, Finance, and Student Information Systems.
- Lead a team of 4 DBAs, providing mentorship, workload distribution, and performance reviews.
- Implement and maintain database security policies, including patch management, access controls, and audit procedures.
- Design and execute performance tuning strategies, such as indexing, query optimization, and resource management.
- Coordinate with application teams to support database requirements for new features and system upgrades.
Requirements
- Extensive experience with Oracle 19c in a production environment.
- Proven leadership skills with prior team‑lead or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Availability to work on site 4 days per week.
