Lead and manage enterprise Oracle databases, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for core institutional services. Oversee a team of DBAs, collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders, and implement best practices in backup, recovery, and performance tuning.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of database administrators to maintain and optimize Oracle database environments supporting HR, Finance, and Student Information Systems.
- Design, implement, and monitor high‑availability solutions, including RAC, Data Guard, and Flashback technologies.
- Develop and enforce security policies, perform regular audits, and manage user access and privileges.
- Plan and execute backup and recovery strategies, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.
- Analyze performance metrics, conduct tuning, and implement best‑practice configurations to meet SLAs.
- Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business units to align database solutions with organizational goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience administering Oracle databases (12c/19c).
- Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning techniques.
- Hands‑on experience with RAC, Data Guard, Flashback, and backup utilities.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a technical team.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
