Devops Engineer
Lead cloud operations and maintenance for a critical border‑control system, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance using AWS, Terraform, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure for the CBP TPVS program, ensuring 99.9% uptime and compliance with DHS security standards.
- Implement and manage Terraform modules for reproducible, version‑controlled infrastructure as code.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar) to automate application deployments and infrastructure changes.
- Monitor system health with CloudWatch, Prometheus, or equivalent, and respond to alerts to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with application teams to optimize performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of cloud resources.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in cloud operations and maintenance, preferably in a regulated environment.
- Proficiency with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM) and infrastructure automation tools.
- Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell for automation and troubleshooting.
- Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced environment.
