Security Engineer
Secure operational technology environments by designing, documenting, and implementing control system cybersecurity measures, managing backups, disaster recovery, and patching processes for critical gas distribution infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and document OT cybersecurity architectures that meet industry regulations and internal security policies.
- Implement and maintain control system security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection, and network segmentation for SCADA and PLC environments.
- Develop, test, and execute backup and disaster recovery procedures to ensure rapid restoration of critical OT assets.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, patch testing, and coordinated updates for hardware and firmware across the distribution network.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and compliance teams to audit and remediate security gaps, ensuring continuous compliance with standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience securing industrial control systems, SCADA, or other OT environments.
- Strong knowledge of OT security frameworks (IEC 62443, NIST 800‑82) and regulatory requirements for the energy sector.
- Hands‑on experience with backup, disaster recovery, and patch management processes for hardware and firmware.
- Proficiency in network security tools, vulnerability scanners, and incident response for OT networks.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills to convey technical concepts to cross‑functional teams.
