Software Engineer
Lead the design, delivery, and evolution of a unified, scalable digital operating system that powers the Group’s customer experience, driving platform strategy, cloud architecture, and cross‑functional collaboration across the organization.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long‑term vision and strategy for the Lloyds Digital Operating System, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, architects, and product managers to deliver scalable, cloud‑native microservices that support the Group’s digital services.
- Champion DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, and automated testing to accelerate time‑to‑market while maintaining high reliability.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders across the Group to prioritize features, manage roadmaps, and communicate progress and risks.
- Drive innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to keep the platform at the forefront of digital banking.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in platform engineering, cloud architecture, and microservices design within a large financial services environment.
- Proven track record of leading cross‑functional teams and delivering complex, high‑availability systems at scale.
- Strong understanding of Agile product development, DevOps tooling, and modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Experience in digital strategy formulation and execution in a regulated banking context is highly desirable.
