Systems Engineer
Systems Engineer responsible for planning, developing, and validating technical work documents for submarine overhaul, repair, and modernization projects, leveraging C++, Python, and systems engineering expertise to ensure fleet readiness.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical work packages, specifications, and design documentation for submarine overhaul and repair projects.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems into the overall vessel architecture.
- Perform analysis, modeling, and simulation using C++ and Python to validate system performance and compliance with Navy standards.
- Support system testing, ship certification, and post‑installation verification at both on‑site and off‑site shipyards.
- Travel to Navy facilities and partner shipyards to provide technical oversight, resolve issues, and ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably with submarine or naval platforms.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python for analysis, scripting, and automation tasks.
- Strong knowledge of submarine subsystems, integration processes, and naval certification requirements.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
