Our Opportunity Summary
The US Expansion Construction team leads the design and construction efforts for high-tech, large-scale projects for Micron in the US, including high-volume manufacturing facilities in Boise, Idaho (ID1 and ID2) and a greenfield manufacturing facility in Clay, New York.
As the NY UPW/Water Systems Operations Engineer, you will oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of Ultra-Pure Water (UPW) and industrial water systems, managing Micron's design and construction partners to ensure project specifications, performance standards, and regulatory requirements are met from start to finish.
While you may not possess all the skills listed below, we seek a team member eager to grow in technical breadth and depth. If you’re open to learning from top-tier engineers, we’ll help expand your skills in this unique opportunity.
What's Encouraged Daily
Oversee third-party design/vendor firms in developing UPW and water reclamation systems, including distribution loops, pretreatment, RO, and degasification systems.
Review and validate third-party design work (P&IDs, equipment specifications, system layouts) to ensure compliance with project requirements and regulatory standards (EPA, RCRA, Clean Water Act).
Conduct technical evaluations of third-party designs, verifying performance metrics such as water cleanliness meet manufacturing requirements.
Collaborate with design teams, contractors, vendors, and internal customers to align UPW/water system designs with facility requirements and project timelines.
Perform quality assurance and risk assessments on third-party designs, resolving issues related to regulatory compliance, constructability, and environmental impact.
Oversee commissioning and testing phases, coordinating with vendors for equipment validation and system startup using BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks) and control systems (PLC, SCADA).
Provide technical guidance to third-party designers on industry procedures; monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery of design work.
Apply AI-enabled tools to automate standard tasks and increase team productivity, including experience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
