About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update safety basis documents, including Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR), for DOE facilities.
- Conduct comprehensive Hazard Analyses (HA) to support safety basis development and identify risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with operations teams to implement safety basis changes and ensure continuous compliance with DOE regulations.
- Prepare technical reports, safety case documentation, and support documentation for safety reviews and audits.
- Provide expert guidance on safety engineering practices and contribute to safety culture initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, Safety Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in nuclear safety engineering, with a strong background in DSA/TSR development and hazard analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of DOE safety regulations, nuclear safety standards, and safety basis documentation.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
