Lead advanced data science initiatives in nuclear engineering, applying machine learning and statistical modeling to optimize reactor performance and safety. Leverage Python, SQL, and AWS to build predictive models and data pipelines for defense and clean energy projects.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy machine learning models to predict reactor behavior, optimize fuel usage, and enhance safety protocols.
- Design and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and AWS services to ingest, clean, and transform large nuclear datasets.
- Collaborate with nuclear engineers and domain experts to translate complex engineering problems into data-driven solutions.
- Perform advanced statistical analysis and uncertainty quantification to support decision-making in reactor design and operation.
- Document methodologies, model performance, and insights for internal stakeholders and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
- Proven experience with Python, machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and SQL.
- Strong background in statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and uncertainty analysis.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS (S3, Redshift, SageMaker) or similar cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally in a regulated environment.
