About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models to detect and classify nuclear signatures from diverse sensor data streams.
- Perform advanced statistical analysis and feature engineering to improve detection accuracy and reduce false positives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate data science solutions into national security workflows and decision‑making processes.
- Develop data pipelines, visualizations, and dashboards to communicate insights to stakeholders and support operational readiness.
- Document methodologies, maintain reproducible codebases, and contribute to open‑source tools within the laboratory.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, or related field with strong quantitative background.
- Proven experience in Python programming, machine learning frameworks (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), and statistical modeling.
- Hands‑on experience with large‑scale sensor data, time‑series analysis, and anomaly detection.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Knowledge of nuclear detection technologies and national security data environments is highly desirable.
