Role Summary
We are seeking a New Relic Platform Administrator (Observability Engineer) to establish the enterprise observability platform for the SRS environment. The role will be responsible for end-to-end administration, monitoring enablement, and continuous optimization of New Relic across infrastructure, applications, and cloud ecosystems.
This role ensures platform stability, visibility, alerting effectiveness, and observability maturity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Administration
- Administer New Relic tenants, accounts, sub-accounts, and workspace configurations
- Implement platform availability, configuration standards, and governance controls
- Ensure scalability and performance of the observability platform
2. User & Access Management
- Configure and maintain SSO integrations
- Conduct periodic access reviews aligned with security policies
3. Agent Lifecycle Management
- Deploy, configure, upgrade, and patch New Relic agents across:
- Infrastructure monitoring
- APM
- Browser & Mobile monitoring
- Synthetic monitoring
- Ensure agent health, coverage, and compliance across environments
4. Integration Management
- Configure and maintain integrations with:
- AWS, Azure, AKS/Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipelines
- ITSM/Ticketing tools
- Internal enterprise platforms
- Enable seamless telemetry flow across systems
5. App Insights Integration
- Integrate Azure Application Insights with New Relic for unified monitoring
- Enable consolidated dashboards and cross-platform visibility
- (Note: App Insights configuration remains with application teams)
6. Dashboards & Alerting
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards aligned to business and operational KPIs
- Configure and tune:
- Alert policies and conditions
- Notification channels and workflows
- Synthetic monitors
- Reduce alert noise through tuning and correlation
7. Telemetry Pipeline Management
- Manage ingestion of logs, metrics, traces, and events
- Implement:
- Data drop rules
- Log parsing and normalization
- Attribute enrichment
- Data partitioning strategies
8. Observability Reporting
- Produce periodic reports on:
- Platform health
- Agent coverage
- Alert effectiveness (noise reduction)
- MTTD, MTTA, MTTR metrics
- Data ingestion trends
- Support executive dashboards and scorecards
11. Continuous Improvement
- Drive observability maturity initiatives:
- Dashboard standardization
- Alert hygiene and optimization
- Runbook automation and integration
- Anomaly detection enablement
